Every time I push the button for 4 hi/lo/auto the light will flash at me for a while the go back to 2wd. Does someone know what is going on and how I can fix it??

For a start I would check for codes and go from what you find from that. Things that go bad = shifter decoder motor , vacuum hub lock switch. Its a process of elimitation . Start from the least costly is what I do.
