My driver side window has to be helped to lower or raise. I am considering taking off the door panel to see if something is out of line and basicly how the window is supose to work. Any ideas. :thinkerg:

if it is moving, but needs helped, than it is most likely the motor.

my metal folding pieces (i cant think of a technical name or think of somethign else to call it) got bent somehow in my z32 causing it to make a real bad clicking sounds when i would roll it down and up. this eventually led to having to be helped up and then eventually stop moving period because it got jammed. this could be your problem but i think my metal folding pieces got bent from someone trying to break in my car with a jimmy or something. so im probably with freak here, in saying that your motor is probably starting to go out.

i dont know about on the z31's but on the z32's it is a huge pain in the ass to change that over. on the z32's they left 2 little holes to dig your hands through.

I have an 86 with the same problem. I don't think it is the motor because atleast in mine, I can hear the motor working. It will barely move down and wont move up at all but I think the motor is fine. I am taking apart mine. I will let you know what mine is and hopefully I can help you.

if the motor is going bad you will still hear the motor tring to work. Do a voltage draw test on it and see what kind of power its sucking to move. Check the manual for its specs. Odds are its the Motor and the guides.
