I also have another problem with my vehicle. I feel a knocking right under my left foot on the floor boards where it sits which is right on top of the cab mount. I only hear and feel the knock when I drive in like a driveway at an angle. If I drive over a bump straight on it doesn't do it. Is this the cab mounts or is there something loose on the front end?? The vehicle is also sort of shifting side (twisting) too when this knock occurs as well.

Your really going to have to crawl underneath and take a look at it. You rpobably want to have a friend there wiggling the stearing wheel, and trying to shake the car a little until you find the problem.

Get under you truck. I don't know how you are going to find your problem from behind a computer.

It is probably something to do with the sway bar bushing and the sway bar end links.

I have narrowed it to the sway bar or cab mounts. I am swaying more to cab mounts though, because I don't feel anything in the steering wheel when the "knock occurs". I only feel it in the floorboards right below my foot which is the cab mount. The vehicle has about 190,000 miles on which makes me think that in addition to the cab mounts being out, so are a bunch of other rubber mounting points. The mounts under the tailgate are so wore out that rust falls from them...:)

(On another note, I know a computer won't check that problem for me BlazerLT ;) I am alittle more mechanically inclined than that....)

More than likely the sway bar bushing and endlinks.

If it's rusted bad, you'd better check and see if you even have a mount.Of course the fender to the door gap would tell you that.

I had the same problem with my S-10 Blazer. If you go back and look for Clunking and rear end lower you will see my post.
All it turned out to be was a missing bolt on one of the transmission mounts causing the tranny to hit the floor board once in a while. Check your mounts and bolts. They told me at the front end shop that I needed a complete go through and it would cost me 700 bucks, but I ended up not spending a dime.

Good Luck,

J

The floor board knock can be very deceptive. Check your motor mounts. What can happen if your motor mount collapeses the motor can shake and the header can hit the base of the firewall. Also a bad tranny mount can cause the same effect. Noit saying it couldn't be the cab mount(s) but it's something else for you to look at.

The '93 is prone to having tortion mounts going bad, check those out, they may look good, but you have to use a pry bar to see if the mount seperated from the rubber.

I just had them replaced. The guy at the shop thought that was the problem be we test drove it and it is still there. But I will check into all the motor mounts as well and all the rest of the stuff people replied to in this thread...

Check your hood and make sure it is not loose at the hinges.

Sounds exactly like a front end problem but only requires $2 washers.

The hood is not loose.

Explain your $2 washer theory??
