Need help from you guys FAST!Joe_Cool97 11-20-2004, 02:58 PM Hey .. I've got a leak in my fuel line under the car. Now what I need to know is if I can use rubber hose to patch the leak. I've heard that under the car you have to have steel fuel lines for it to pass a safety. Can someone please tell me. thanks dwalmop 11-20-2004, 05:21 PM you can use rubber and some hose clamps, but I would only do it temporarily until you get real lines. KustmAce 11-20-2004, 06:18 PM That'll be a quick fix till you can properly repair it. The gas will corrode the rubber. public 11-20-2004, 08:00 PM DO NOT USE REGULAR FUEL LINE. Your info shows you have a 94 Cavi. This is a fuel injected car which run in excess of 40 psi in the fuel system. Regular fuel line is only rated for 7 psi. Make sure to get hose rated for a fuel injection system and then this is a permant repair. Just as safe as the RUBBER section that comes from the factory that connects to the engine. As for Gas corroding the rubber??? :screwy: Where did anyone hear that? What is that hose at the gas pump made of ? Not to mention the section on the end of your factory metal lines that connect to the motor. Was there some question that he/she might use aquarium tubing or something? godenm 11-20-2004, 08:37 PM yeah, i agree with public, you can get 100psi fuel hose for cheap, double clamp it, make sure theres no kinks or moving parts & it will probably last as long as the metal lines Mangoamerican 11-21-2004, 03:55 AM i just replaced a part of my fuel line with efi rubber tubing (they have really neat clamps made esspecially for them) works great! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
