Can i burn it now?stoned_pimp420 11-19-2004, 02:20 PM I hate these vans they have got to be one of the biggest mistakes any automobile manufatcurer has ever made. Mine is a 1996 windstar GL and more crap messes up than can be fixed. If you name it it has probably been replaced. 2 engines, 1 tranny about to be 2 trannies, don't even get me started on the suspension on this raggedy MoFo I have probably replaced every part under the front end at least 4 times. And the body panels keep working their way aloose. My interior lights stay on constantly. The sliding door won't open at all. And the electric window vents in the back quit working. They're stuck open. The one thing i am proud that screwed up was the anti lock brakes. They no longer are anti-locks they are conventional brakes now. Now here's the trick. It only has 113,726 miles on it. And all of the work/service has been done by Preimer Ford of Columbus Mississippi. So i want yalls opinion. What should i do with it? And are all windstars this f*#ked (f@ked) up? Please Help Me!!! DRW1000 11-19-2004, 05:43 PM I feel bad that you have had so many troubles with your Windstar. I have a 99 that does get the occasional problem but nothing as bad as what you have experienced. 113,000 miles is certaily not an extreme amount of mileage. It is however enough mileage to require that some front end components be replaced such as ball joints, tie rods, tires, brakes... An engine and tranny should last longer. One question though: Have you done regular oil and filter changes with good quality replacements every 3,000 miles and have you replaced your tranny fluid on a regular basis? 12Ounce 11-20-2004, 03:59 PM How far are you from the Gulf? 12Ounce 11-20-2004, 04:35 PM Here's an interesting site for reliability comparisions: . http://autos.msn.com/home/reliability_ratings.aspx?src=URES stoned_pimp420 11-22-2004, 12:44 PM I live next to Tuscaloosa Alabama And i have had all the maintenence done by ford at the specified intervals. Oh yeah it,s hood flew open on me this weekend going down interstate 20-59. I got it stopped and spent a hour and a half waiting on tools, i got the hood off, and 5 more miles down the road it blew 2 tires at once. So it's sitting somewhere down on a backroad of tuscaloosa until i get bored enough and go back and get it from there. 12Ounce 11-22-2004, 12:52 PM I was thinking you might want to drive it into the Gulf. DRW1000 11-22-2004, 01:20 PM I am begining to think that stonedpimp is just messing with this forum. If the hood flew open I would think that it was not properly closed and if both tires blew then you either ran over something or they were in very bad condition and a major coincidence took place. Hardly the fault of the Windstar stoned_pimp420 11-22-2004, 01:42 PM I ain't messing with nothing if you don't believe me i'll try to get a dig. camera and i'll take pics. if that ain't enough i'll try to get a scanner and i'll post all of the service records. But seriously I'll never own another windstar or any other vehicle. I'm getting a motorcycle. All my vehicles i've ever owned has treated me like this. DRW1000 11-22-2004, 02:24 PM Of course the common thread to all of your vehicles is YOU................................ vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
