replacing the spedometer gear is not difficult, remove the speed sensor on the top, right side of the tranny and it is connected to the sensor. if your speedometer is just not working, pull the guage cluster out and clean the terminals, or possibly need a new computer, as in my case...

Hello: Thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunely, you are wrong about the speedometer-gear. The speedometer-gear located inside the transmission is very hard to replace. I've been told the transmission has to come out and took apart. The gear you are talking about is the speed-sensor gear. It is easy to replace! However the other gear inside the transmission that turns the gear on the speed sensor is the "speedometer-gear" . And in my case that gear (speedometer-gear) is the bad one, not the speed-sensor gear!!

Thanks anyway. KoolAid
