Depending on what you plan on doing with it. You say street and race, thats a big door, and if you plan on racing it at a track they have rules and it would be a good idea if you picked up a book on these rules and go from their. If it's for street racing F**k the rules, anything goes.

Now I want all reading this to put on their dreaming cap and think about this.
ProShift ownes a 260Z. What if he got a second one and set it up like the 240Z in this thread, paint, wheels everything except what was under the hood.:evillol: Two cars you couldn't tell apart without opening the hood. One bad mean mother. A car that well turn some serious low ET's. A car that when someone wants to run, you tell them bring lots of money, cause it's going to cost you your ass and then some. Racing is like playing poker. Any of you play the game? Fun isn't it? Well how much fun would it be if you always had a Royal Flush in your hand? Fuck, you'd never lose. Then you'd start looking for the baddest meanest, fastest just so you could have some fun with them. I've seen guys with some really mean machines lose to one with less power because they didn't pay attention to the little details. There's alot of difference between a fast car and winner, and the difference is the details. And generally they don't cost a cent or very little.

ProShift asked a question about removing weight from his car to make it faster. Did you know that for every 100lbs you remove you drop your ET by 1/10 second. Don't sound like much but if you can drop 500lbs you just lost 1/2 second. Your seats, if you went to the wrecking yards and spent some time you could most likely find some seats much lighter than Z seats. When you go crusing looking for something to run how much gas is in the tank? Well when the tank is full your carring 140lbs, but if you had 3 gals and stopped every once in awhile, you'd only have 21lbs, a savings of 119lbs.
Thats our lesson for tonight.

Then I'd suggest putting a 75-100 shot of nitrous, a good exhaust, upgrade your intake and with the balance get some good tires for the rear.
