Zgringo 450MPH RunBlackBettyZ 11-17-2004, 05:47 PM DeleriousZ 11-17-2004, 06:02 PM jeeeesus that's fast BlackBettyZ 11-17-2004, 07:27 PM fastest Z around Broke_as_**** 11-17-2004, 08:23 PM To sum it up: "WHOLY ****!" Zgringo 11-17-2004, 08:39 PM fastest Z around It's not a Z, but has a VH45DETT engine. The Zed32 is next. Well be using the same engine but with more HP in a stock production 300ZX Z32 body and drivetrain. Well be attempting to go 300MPH and be the first production car to ever go over 300MPH. And thanks Steve for the post. I don't know how to do these things. BlackBettyZ 11-17-2004, 08:55 PM my bad on the misinformation k3smostwanted 11-17-2004, 11:52 PM yeah that is ridculously fast... BTW: make sure you keep a detailed log on the car. pictures of the process, video of the run, video of the car, and pictures of what it looks like when its done. i got to see this. Broke_as_**** 11-17-2004, 11:57 PM It's not a Z, but has a VH45DETT engine. The Zed32 is next. Well be using the same engine but with more HP in a stock production 300ZX Z32 body and drivetrain. Well be attempting to go 300MPH and be the first production car to ever go over 300MPH. Since I'm a gimp, explain the rules of this class of car to me. Is it just that the engine has to have been a production engine or block? Because...obviously there was no production VH45DETT Z32 300ZX. How does this all work? Zgringo 11-18-2004, 02:13 AM Since I'm a gimp, explain the rules of this class of car to me. Is it just that the engine has to have been a production engine or block? Because...obviously there was no production VH45DETT Z32 300ZX. How does this all work? I'm going for class A stock production gas class. The body has to be a stock production car body. No streamlining or modifing of the body to enhance the aerodynamics of the car. The outside mirrors, radio antenna, windshield wiper blades and anything inside the car considered unsafe for the operation of the car can be removed. The engine has to be of the same manufacture as the car. All safety items as per automobiles running over 200MPH well be in place. Tires well be certified for the speed of the car. Cars running over 200MPH well have dual drag chutes as a backup for stopping. The car is really a class D car, but being it's using dual superchargers is bumped up a class to class C, but I've choosen to run class A as the record is held by a friend of mine in a Corvette, and I feel it's only right I smoke his ass and then some. Just last month the worlds record was set for class F 3.0L cars. Heres the post my friend sent me the day they broke the record. Posted: Wed Oct 20, 2004 2:30 am Post subject: '94 twin turbo set a new world record at Bonneville Reply with quote Carlson Racing sponcered by RaVer Motorsports set a new world record at last week's world finals held by SCTA and BNI on the Bonneville Salt Flats. The car ran in F, Blown Grand Touring (3.0 liter max, two seater, no body mods allowed for aerodynamics, turbocharged on gas, partial interior required). The car is owned by Greg Carlson and was driven by his son Kenny Carlson. The previous record was set by "Dandy" K. Tanaka (I believe he is the owner of the Japanese magazine Options ; he’s a great and humble guy who I had the honor to meet at this year's Speedweek last August). Tanaka's record was set 14 years ago at 222+mph. We reset it to 224+mph, and I see LOTS of potential for next year. While we received zero additional sponsorship I would like to thank the following contributors...some for simply providing good products regardless of the costs, others for giving generously by way of good advise or free/almost-freeware: Wolf Technologies We purchased JWT billet cams/springs, two '81 280ZX Sport 400s with internal waste gates, dual pop intakes, and Jim/Clark provided extensive insights as well as setting up the original parameters in our stock ECU’s ROM RC Engineering modified our stock injectors to flow 928cc without leaks Smile Eric's Conzult datalogging was extremely valuable Mike AKA Extensive provided us with EcuControl for quick editing of the maps, and his diy interface allowed us to use Eric's Conzult for datalogging. Ztech provided a forum to trade ideas on TechEdge's wide band O2 in conjunction with Justin Luton's 'logging software Cherrypicker provided the original information that convinced me to ditch the Haltech and pursue tuning the factory ECU Thanks also to anyone else we may have forgotten, sorry. This project was undertaken on a very small budget (by comparison to most other competitors in this class) so success is all the more sweet. This is a victory for ALL Nissan enthusiasts! Vernon, owner of RaVer Motorsports Now all owners 300ZXTT Z32's have bragging rights. Nothing in the world in the 3.0 L class can claim this. This is the worlds fastest 3.0L car, period. Heh heh heh...fucking destroyed their asses  Anyway, this is going to be some wickedly evil stuff going down, I'm tempted to say I'd drive down to the flats to see it (and if not there, where ever the hell you are doing it). k3smostwanted 11-18-2004, 02:32 AM yeah...how far are you into mexico??? im anxious for you to get it out there. please keep me posted with pics and videos. you have my email if you decide not to post it. Zgringo 11-19-2004, 01:49 AM yeah...how far are you into mexico??? About 1 hour by Zed and 2 hours by normal car south of the border. South of Calexico, Calif. k3smostwanted 11-19-2004, 01:57 AM so that would make it one hell of a trip for me either way. ill pass. but you could send me a complementary video copy. Zgringo 11-19-2004, 02:13 AM so that would make it one hell of a trip for me either way. ill pass. but you could send me a complementary video copy. Can do. There's 3 sponsors involved and I'm sure their well be lots of videos to go around. I hate sponsors, but there a end to the means. k3smostwanted 11-19-2004, 02:17 AM of course. Hodo 11-19-2004, 09:28 AM Gringo what tires ratings that go that fast... I know there is Z rated, but those would be Ludicris rated? or Plad? LOL j/k I know some of the drag tires ratings. Not the big boys wheels though. I mostly like Street tire class on the track when I turn wrenches for people. BUt I perfer course racing personally. Good question Hodo, I hope the following answers your question, It's about Mickey Thompson Tire Co. "Here are just some of the firsts they have brought to the industry: Wide/Low Profile tires on 12" wheels at the Indy 500 in 1963; Wide/Low Profile Tires on 15" wheels at the Indy 500 in 1964; the first 70 series tire in 1966; the first 60 series tire in 1969; and the first 50 series tire in 1971. They also introduced "raised white letter" tires in 1970. In 1973, Mickey Thompson introduced tall, light truck tires with a 35" O.D. and, in 1978, they introduced large, light truck radial tires. Mickey Thompson innovations aren't just found on the street. In 1991 they came out with DOT-approved race tires for Sportsman Pro racing and DOT-approved 17" Off Road racing tires and wheels came out in 1994. 1996 saw them claim the title of having the "World's Fastest DOT Tire" at 500 mph with the Bonneville LSR tire; they then followed that up with the "World's Fastest DOT Motorcycle Tire" title, the MCR." Mickey Thompson Tire Co. Quit making These tires last year so we have a problem unless we can find a mfg. to make tires for us. If you think the tires on your car are costly, try buying tires rated for speeds in the 500MPH range. I too perfer course racing as I started racing at a very young age when our great society dodn't restrict a person for age. Short track motorcycle racing was a blast and racing at over 100MPH without brakes was a rush. Then went to Midgets. My brother aquired the midget Billy Vukovich raced on the Pacific coast when he went to sprint cars. I too moved on to sprint cars, then Uncle Sam felt I was more needed to play war games in Korea. After returning from Korea I met Ed and Don "Big Daddy" Garlic in Tampa, Florida and got involved in drag racing when it was still in it's beginning. Everything we had on the cars was hand built. This was before Isky, Moon, Donovan, Wyand, Edelbrock and the likes. All these guys were racers that developed a art and the racing as we know it today was born. Today I'm limited to Pro Import drag racing and Land Speed racing as my eyes nerve has been stretched so many times from such hard lanches in the AA/Fuel dragsters that many more I'd be blind, so I've backed off the thing I love so much to easier things on the body. I've had a great life and have met some super people. People with the same desire to go faster than ever before, never happy with normal driving, and pushing the car and their ability to the limits, the likes of Lou Meyer, 3 time winner of the Indy 500, my mentor and good friend for many years. The last time we met was in Searchlight, Nevada prior to his passing and I took him for a ride in my Turbo 911 Ruf and all he could say is, what would it have been like to have something like this when I was a kid, faster, faster. Whats wild about that ride is he was 95 or 97 and still had the love for speed. It never dies. And now it's time for me to finish what I started and pass it on to the next generation of nuts with the love for speed. Hodo 11-20-2004, 05:28 PM Playing war games in Korea Republic of....... I was in Korea, back in 98-99 Camp Casey, 122nd Signal Company Tung Duc Shung (I misspelled it horribly but I cant say most of the Korean towns let alone spell them) In fact it was during the Korean war, and I never worried how to spell the towns names cause I dropped bombs on them and wiped them off the map. Nice games we play. And I am a few days older than the Z line. In fact, I think I'm older than dirt. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
