Throttle Bodieshigherlevel 11-17-2004, 05:26 PM Ive been looking and found for the z31, stanza and hitachi (or something) are the choices for a larger throttle body. How would you go about changing out the old throttle body? It's like the question, "whats faster, my Z or a Super Dooper Scooper"? Hell's fire, there's most likely 10,000 web's with performance of every car ever build and it isn't hard to find out if you just look, and if you don't like what you read then go out and find one and race the mother. That should answer your question real quick. As for the question at hand, get all the specs. you can on it and measure yours and see if it well fit. When all else fails ask and see if someone has ever done it before, or take a chance and be the first. Thats how you learn. higherlevel 11-19-2004, 12:20 PM You know for someone who is new at this automotive forum you guys know how to give someone a big f****** warm welcome. All I was asking was "HOW" to put the throttle body on. Read the past threads and you will see why I ask. I love the Z but this forum is not impressing me. Maybe someday I will be cool enough to be one of the past z crew. Wasn't ment to be a slam, it's just your asking something that I assume is a custom install and your best bet is to do some measuring and see if it well fit or worse case make a adaptor to make it work. Do alittle research and see what you can comeup with. That's the fun of doing something different. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. Now if you wanted to know about condoms you could have asked E Honda cause he's pretty much the authority around here on them. DeleriousZ 11-19-2004, 03:56 PM how to change the throttle body?? find the right size allen key (i think it's allen keys) and unbolt the 4 bolts around the throttle body after disconnecting the intake pipe and all the hoses running to it... careful of the coolant hoses running through the tb.. they're a BITCH to hook up... especially when you split one of the pipes and spew stuff all over your engine bay (me)... anyway... you might want to try and find some sort of gasket material for when you put the new tb on... don't forget about the filing down the intake manifold intake.. and make sure you don't get any filings etc etc.... you know the drill E Honda 11-19-2004, 04:48 PM Wasn't ment to be a slam, it's just your asking something that I assume is a custom install and your best bet is to do some measuring and see if it well fit or worse case make a adaptor to make it work.
