Hi guys,
I have a 2001 gsr (USDM) and i want to buy the 4-1 JDM Header from the 1998-2001 Type Spec R ( or b18c5 jdm), and i have a couple of questions. Is this header a direct bolt on to my gsr? I read somewhere that i might need an adapter or flange becasue of the 64 mm collector? Is this true? Also since this JDM header is not carb legal, will my oxygen sensor cause the ecu to shoot error codes back at me causing my engine light to turn on? Also What is the diffrence between the JDM Type r header and the USDM Type R header. I would imagine that the USDM Type r header would be a direct bolt on to my gsr, is this correct. If i get the JDM header how much power would i gain above 5000 rpm and how much would i lose under 5000 rpm? I know these are allot of questions!!, but i like to do my reasearch before i buy something. Oh yeah, i already have an aem cai and comptech catback exhaust. My second choice for a header would be the comptech 4-2-1, which would minimize power loss at low Rpm. A response to each of these questions would be appreciated.
Thanks Guys,\

Yes it is a direct bolt on because i know a friend that has a 4-1 JDM type r header on his LSVTEC. I cant answer ur other questions tho.

sure it bolts on, arent all B series heads same bolt pattern on exhaust side. only thing would be when it gets to the cat, and that I dont know about, I doubt if it has a 2.5" collector it will bolt to the cat cuz of the size difference, but with the custom exhaust who knows, it might, have you tried calling/emailing comptech and asking them if it would bolt straight ot the exhaust you got or call DC sports and ask if their replica would bolt to the comptech exhaust. they might help you out with something as simple as that.
