From what I read, it seems that the pully helps you retain your factory alternator output IF you use it with a set of underdrive pullys. The article isn't very clear as to if it adds power or not to stock pully setups.

if i did the math right then the following should be almost near true?

1999 chevy 5.3 has about 197.5hp according to aems website (dynoed at the wheels), well then a 2000-2002 5.3 will have 217.5hp so you lost a total of 67.5 hp

torq wise the 1999-02 5.3 has 244.3 and so youve lost a total about 85.7....

if i did the math right then maybe with that pulley thing and since i got delta flow 50 flowmaster your lookin maybe a 20 to 25 hp increse if ya modded your air box and nocked out that screen....torq whise possable about 30 to 35??? i plan to dyno once i get the pulley because im dertermed to know what i have right nows

ok i got it and all it is is a stupid small ass pulley for the alternator its, acordin to the company that makes it, it will not incresae the hp??? so if theres a small pulley on the alternator it will decrease the hp? because its better for the electronics??? im lost lol

The smaller alternator pulley is used in conjuction with the crank/harmonic balancer underdrive pulley in order for the alternator to keep the charge similar to stock. It won't do anything alone.

ASP sells the crank/balancer pulley to go with the smaller pulley you have.
