Auto tranny slams when down shifting

I have an 86 f150 with the auto tranny. Shifts nice when acclerating, but when I left off the gas it slams into gear when downshifting. Normal or is something wrong ? Any help appreciated. Thanks

No idea what tranny is in your truck, but my 96 F250 has been doing the same thing. See my prior post "96 F250 rebuilt tranny has issues".
