come on peopleneo the hacker 11-16-2004, 05:57 PM Is it me or as there been very little Action of late, have you all sold your porsches? come on boys and girls, i want to know everything! ledhedsymbols 11-17-2004, 12:38 PM Sorry man.... Uncle sam has been keeping me busy, as has college. This full time work and school thing is a real damper on everything in my life! 8) Anywho, I recently ordered the 968 shop manual on CD, and look forward to doing a serious tuneup and service this winter. I also have some electrical gremlins to track down as well. I'll keep everyone posted, but finals are coming up, so that has to take priority. Cheers eohrnberger 11-17-2004, 03:40 PM Could also be that some hav moved over to the flat-6.net forums. Their forms traffic seems to be picking up. http://www.flat-6.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=1238 (http://www.flat-6.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=1238) Manofthehaus 11-17-2004, 04:05 PM What do you want to know???? neo the hacker 11-19-2004, 03:59 AM I go with that ledhed, finals do come first, and the CD manuals are good. Flat-6?, well we need to get them back then dont we. And as for what do i want to know, well EVERYTHING, it can only benifit us all if everybody tell us whats going on in there own little world of PORSCHE ownership. 83-944 11-19-2004, 04:43 AM Same as ledhead for me (well minus the 968 stuff and college) between work and moving into my new/used house I've been too busy to even open the hood. I think I'll go check the oil now! 83-944 11-19-2004, 04:44 AM and what the hell is this related links thing? I'd like to know that. eohrnberger 11-19-2004, 09:27 AM If you are referring to my previous post, the link is another 944 forum on another site that appears to get greater traffic than here. Frankly, I've found this forum pretty dead compares to the flat-6.net one, which appears to have had at least three new people join in the past few weeks. 83-944 11-19-2004, 01:13 PM eohrnberger 11-19-2004, 01:21 PM Beats me. Autofreefindersguy 11-20-2004, 03:43 PM Well how about some 944 news from Indy? I have been keeping my eyes open for my next one and have looked at several lately...Just none yet that say LOVE ME! Interesting though, I test drove a 87 with 198K miles and a 89 with 248k miles and they BOTH ran GREAT! Also just got back from seeing a 85.5 944 Turbo "look" too rough for me though... I shall keep my eyes open...But just wanted to say WOW on the high miles ones that still ran very well! 83-944 11-21-2004, 03:17 AM i want to know everything! I noticed my idle was hunting around at a stop light. When i got home, I opened the hood and noticed the vacuum line popped off the throttle body. Maybe it'll explain the odd surging the car does especially when cold. Cost: free I've had a shake in the steering wheel from 60 to 70 MPH for about a year now. I've had the tires balanced, the car aligned, done 100's of visual inspections and done the shake the tire deal. I found a top/bottom wobble in the passenger side and upon further investigation, I can see it's coming from the strut shaft. The struts don't seem worn out but I'll replace them anyways as soon as $$$ is available. Cost: ~$160 I'm gonna need a new helmet next year as the snell year stamp is about to run past the 10 year limit. Cost: ~$250 The passenger side window switch only lets them put the window up, I must roll it down. I don't know how long it's been half broken cause I usually ride alone and I'm always driving. Cost: 2 hours + 6 beers There's more stuff if you want to hear it. neo the hacker 11-21-2004, 08:21 AM Thanks enough for the moment i think. Mine as the same problem with the struts> Struts work fine but have play in the shaft, mine are the full legs tho, being an "88" And yours being the inserts. Window switch are cheap enough and easy to replace. Related links? aint got a clue! eohrnberger 11-21-2004, 09:17 AM Replaced the power steering pump and the two hoses that connected to the power steering reservoir. I have to say that the return line is one of the most interestingly bent lines that I've ever seen before. This was a real challenge to replaced, but the pump feeder hose was easy. I just hope that this will finally stop the power steering leak that's been dripping since I got the car. neo the hacker 11-21-2004, 10:30 AM My steering drips from the rack, but i'm goona hold out for the seals instead of changing the rack! eohrnberger 11-21-2004, 05:26 PM Neo, I hope that changing the seals will solve your drip problem. Replacing the rack sounds way more expensive. ledhedsymbols 11-22-2004, 12:16 AM I've seen a reseal kit for the rack on Ebay for about 70 bucks. The advert also links to a website with instructions and pictures. I replaced mine with a junkyard item not too long ago, and I am planning on rebuilding my old one at some point. If anyone else does this, or has done it, please post and let us all know how hard it actually is to do, and how long it took. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
