turbonator ???Zogboy 11-16-2004, 05:43 PM Will that thing really increase my hp on a 1.3 4cyl??? Seems like the factory would put them on if if worked Any of you guys try this thing? thanks geozukigti 11-16-2004, 06:00 PM On a metro, any HP gains from the increased airflow would be nullified by the increased drag on the alternator. Zogboy 11-16-2004, 06:27 PM thanks for thr heads up on the turonator! SeanMurphy 11-16-2004, 08:52 PM I can't see how this device would work on ANY engine. You can't get free power, you can only harness power being wasted, as is the case of a supercharger or turbo system. Anything that takes power from one system to put it to another is going to give you a net loss due to simple physics. This being said, power can be obtained in small amounts by making the engine more efficient, such as by increasing the amount of air that is able to enter and exit the engine (intake / exhaust) as well as by increasing the density of oxygen in the combustion air (colder air, ram air effect or nitrous oxide). All this being said, there's only so much an engine can take without careful engineering and consideration. Geozuki has managed to get a lot of power out of stock internals from what i've seen, but I'd guess he's given careful consideration to what he's doing and has lots of mechanical expertise. If you're trying to make a vtec killer, expect that you're going to see some monetary setbacks that you might not otherwise have been expecting :) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
