to buy or not to buylazysmurff 11-16-2004, 04:33 PM so ive recently started the process of saving for a new car, seeing as my old prelude is about to bite it. my main consultation guide has been SCC's top rides for under 30,000, however, i have a love for GTI's that just wont die. as much as i would love a new R32, im going to have to be realistic and recognize that my chances of saving up enough money to get one before all 5000 are snatched up are slim to none...not to mention the wheels are hideous, and the insurance is probably outrageous. now, id really prefer to not have a FWD car, but like i said...i have an old school love of the GTI. now, im leaning towards a new Z car but id like, if i may, to ask this forum if there are any advantages to a GTI VR6 over the Z that im just not seeing. plans for the car, whichever it may be, are classy. a supercharger kit and the basic IHE (one cant deny the love of power), but a concentration on handling. essentially id like to take these twisty arkansas roads with no worries, but still be able to cross train tracks. help save my love of the GTI, and please tell me of some advantage that i may be over looking.
