I have the chance of either gettin a STOCK 04 WRX STI or a TUNNED 04 RX-7 THAT RUNS 350HP. The STI is sellin slightly cheaper. Which one should I choose and why? I have beentryin to make my own decision but every time i try it always comes to a dead end. This is a great chance that i dont want to give up by choosing the wrong car. HELP.

350hp rx7 is not that much, seen plenty arround, in fact, i saw more 350hp rx7 than stock STI

i'd get the sti, its very driveable, its more comfortable, its not modded and it has 300hp, so you wont have much reliability issues, it has a guarranty, its 4wd, its quick. you wont have all the troubles an rx7 has like changing turbos and engines overhaul

What You Mean That I Would Have To Be Changing Turbos And Engine Overhauls For The Rx-7?

The STi is cheaper?

I'd spring for it.

an STi is the only car I'd pick over a nice rx-7, I say go for it. subaru ha svery reliable cars, the AWD will be great(especially if you live anywhere that has snow or ice) and it is new(or almost, don't think you said for sure) and the 7 is 10 years old, it will have a lot more troubles than a new subaru.

so theres my 2 cents

you know, the two thingy that makes the car go zoom zoom but produce alot of heat ? these die after a while, and they put stress on the other thing that makes the car go zoom zoom, this has to get rebuilt one day too.

deffinetly sti. fd has problems and its a fr. sti is more reliable, more parts, engine wont die on u, and basically it dominates the streets.

even if i'd buy an STI over an rx7, i dont think Fr is a problem

Awd will only have advantage on launch, and on everything else than dry tarmac. thats what ? 5-10% of your driving ?

if an 350hp fd that costs more than an 04 sti a bit overpriced?? :screwy:
i mean u can get em for 10-20k easy and its not terribly hard or too expensive to get 350hp...is it? :screwy:

you can almost do that on stock turbos according they are in good shape, with an apexi powerFC, full exhaust, some intake mods and full exhaust.

WOW! I TEST DRIVED THE RX-7 YESTERDAY. THAT CAR IS FUKEN CRAZY!! CHECK OUT THE RX-7 AND TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK. WWW.DRAGINTERNATIONAL.COM GO TO PHOTOS...THEN TO IMAGE 7
I have never driven an STI though. As much good ratings your giving the STI...I have always felt that the RX-7 has much more potential than a STI...tell me what you think...
STI 04 STOCK (SELLIN FOR 8Gs) VS. 94 RX-7 LOADED WITH MODS 350HP (SELLING FOR 11Gs)....tell me what u would want...make sure to look at the site.

A 04 STi FOR 8GS?

hell, even the 7 is a steal if its in good condition. Whats the mileage on the 7 and is it on its original engine?

wow that 7 is pretty.

but nothing realy compares to the feeling of awd with the good torque of the sti...

dont get wrong on this, a turbo rotary has torque, and it would pulls harder than an sti with the same power, theres less power lost at highspeed. the Awd tranny is good only for the launchs

THE STI IS STOCK...BUT THE RX-7 HAS A 2001 MOTOR JUST IN FROM JAPAN AND IT ONLY HAS 2,000 MILES ON IT. Plus the motor of the RX-7 has many mods....

Oh, no i didnt mean to say anything about the torque of the 7, but the sti has lots of it (good meaning good for a small engine, its no v8)
and yeah a 7 would pull harder with the same mods (especially at high speeds)

the rx7 is nice, i like the '98 rz spoiler, i used to want one for mine. as an rx7 owner, i can tell you that if you're picking up that car for 11k it definitely has problems. and believe me a 350hp Rx7 will MURDER an Sti of the same power output. and i mean MURDER. on the flipside, the rx7 demands a lot of attention, care, and respect. if you don't respect that car, it will get you killed quickly. if you haven't owned a sportscar before, this is not the one to go with. but a turbo II rx7 (FC3S) might be just what you're looking for!

11k isnt bad. I've seen so many good condition FD's around that price.

Ok think of it this way: how many STi's do you find for 8k?
You can find FDs for 11k all day long.
