Someone told me that the Consumer Reports reliability ratings (the ones with the dots and check mark) show that the '01 thru '04 F-150 Heritage is very close to the Tundra. Does experience show that this is true? Which F-150 engines are the most reliable? Thinking of buying.....

The '01 - '04 Heritages are great trucks, very solid indeed. Just as reliable if not more so in my opinion and experience. If you truly want to blow the Tundra away, get the new '04 F150 NOT Heritage truck. Superior vehicle in every way.

The 5.4L Triton V8 is the best motor in the half tonne.

After the half tonne, it's the 6.0L V8 diesel made after May 2003, and the 6.8L V10 gas is also great.
