I have a 95 Grand Cherokee that I have been fighting with since the end of July. First it started bucking intermittently and dying. I found that the wiring to the Map sensor was broken and fixed that. I still had the problem with it dying and replaced a Crank Sensor. It still would die whenever it wanted. I replaced every sensor under the hood and the fuel pump. It still bucked and died. I took it to a local repair shop and the mechanic recrimped the wires inside the coil plug and it has quit dying. I went through the wiring harness and back probed just about everything under the hood. I got a computer from a wrecking yard and put in it. It still bucked. It acted like it had a wet distributor cap. I called a few places and they said it sounds just like a bad crank sensor so I replaced it again. Finally I called a place named Just Jeeps that is in the Knoxville area. I took it there and they scoped the engine while it was running and when it acted up (bucking hesitation) the took a snap shot. It came back as a bad crank sensor. They pulled one of their crank sensors off their shelf and installed it. My Jeep runs great now. I had put in a total of 3 bad crank sensors (Borge Warner brand) and they were bad. Just Jeeps put in an Echlin brand and it works great. They also said when they compared the magnetic pull on both of them and they said the Echlin was much stronger.

Hope this will help some of you that may be having this problem.

that great john, I have had soo many ppl email email me about there jeep acting up and about 70% of there problems are CPS and I tell them to replace it and they do and it still happens, i tell them they might have got a bad CPS and I tell them to replace it and they refuse to (they say it was just replaced shouldn't be the CPS, blah blah blah) well now I have something to share with them.
I am glad u posted this.
