96 Regal Head Unit w/ CD playergrin919 11-15-2004, 09:49 AM I'd like to know if any one knows where I can get a stock head unit with the CD player for my Buick. The face plate is cracked, and the cd player has a CD stuck in it and i cant get it out. Please Help. Thanks, Drew TrackerKid02 11-15-2004, 10:17 AM Go to a mobile electronics store and talk to them about it. You can get a aftermarket head unit just about any where, but you need an adaptor for the 96. Go to walmart and look in there car department. Also, your steering wheel radio controls will not be compatible with the new head unit. That is unless you get an adaptor. Witch cost a good 80-90 $ (I do beleive) tman 11-15-2004, 06:16 PM find a repair center and get the stock unit repaired. Stock units perform fine on these cars, and you'll have a better looking car with a stock unit. Aftermarket ones look tacky to me. Ruley73 11-16-2004, 05:02 AM You'll have to go to a car audio retailer to get the right installation parts if you want to install an aftermarket radio. The Wiring harness/mounting hardware for your Regal isn't available from Wal-Mart. I agree that the the factory unit performs beautifully and is worth fixing/keeping. Although I wish they could play MP3 CDs sometimes :( . tman 11-16-2004, 07:08 AM whatchu talking bout willis? mine plays mp3 cd's with no problem Ruley73 11-16-2004, 07:19 PM I meant that it can't play MP3 FILE CDs. Such car decks that could play MP3 files weren't available for a fews years yet. However, the Delco deck will play burned discs that have regular CD tracks which are MP3 files converted to WAV format just before they are recorded. tman 11-16-2004, 10:29 PM yeah, i didn't know you meant file cd's, and you're right about that. would save me money to burn a new list of tracks to a cdrw instead of new cdrs all the time vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
