Well not really... for the true story, Most of you know that I drive a nice car already. Well that C 32 happens to be my fathers and I drove it for eight months before I got my actual first car. I am not her to bragg but I just wanted to show my actual first car. I got this as my 17th bday gift. I am making a promise that i will drive this car until the day it dies. The car I got is a preowned 2003 BMW 330i with 26,000 miles on it and it has extended warranty. I plan right now not to modify it until later but for now, I love it the way it is. Heres some pics I hope you enjoy.

nice ride man :bigthumb: . What a present for your 17th birthday. All I got to drive then was a rusted 92 Civic DX with no power anything, had to unlock all 4 doorsif I was luggin anyone around by stretching my body around pushing the lock up and in the summer, had to manually roll each window up, it was hell. Seats were ripped and stuff. It did its job though, I'm not complaining. Glad my dad actually got me a car I could drive instead of taking the bus to school.

The thing was too slow for me to keep though. So I worked senior year and saved up till I was 19 and bought my 240, loved it ever since :iceslolan . Civic sits there as my snow-driver. Wish I could have a BMW 330 though, that ride is nice. Sometimes i wish I had rich parents, at the same time though when you work for a car you appreciate it more. Anyways it seems you already appreciate it enough, have fun with it. 330's are great cars

oh damn.

Have you ever considered... like, major missions work? I've never driven a car with under 100,000 miles on it. Why? Because it is just not necessary. Instead, my family has chosen to spend $100,000 on the construction of a village in the Salvadoran jungle. (Thereby freeing the people in this village from the cycle of poverty that has existed for the past 7-10 generations. Previous to this, there was no hope of them ever being independent of the wealthy land owner on who's land they were residing.) We also anually give $20,000 to other charities, and some other insane amount towards a higher quality education for my bro and I than the public schools would be able to provide. No offense, but you driving a car like that would most certainly qualify as gross excess. My family pays in taxes 3-5 times or more the amount that the average american makes before taxes. In spite of this, we make a concious choice to live a lifestyle that has a lasting impact on others, which means we don't live in mansion on the lake and none of our cars can do 0-60 in under 7 seconds... especially not my brother's volvo :p

Always remember:

With great wealth comes great responsibility. Now go tell your dad to go make a difference in the world and to quit turning you into such a lucky brat! :p

EDIT: despite the emoticons, that post was completely and entirely serious. I'm not kidding about this. People that have such great resources yet choose to not benefit anyone less fortunate bother me. (By less fortunate I'm not talking about the homeless people downtown that ended up there by screwing themselves, I'm talking about people in the third world that REALLY have no hope of ever advancing themselves. The people that can do nothing about their situation no matter how hard they might try.) If we chose to live the lifestyle of the masses, what do you think I would be driving with the extra $80,000 we would have each year? Yeah, I'd be driving a brand new BMW as well.

If you've read this far, please continue to the second page.

Oh, and sorry if it came off as a lecture, because I know that it is your dad choosing how to spend his own money, not you. It's just I wish that more people would try to make a damn difference, rather than only looking after their own pompous selves. Do you have any idea what we could do if everyone making more than 100k gave just $10,000 to charities each year?

Chill guys.

ec437, that's really admirable, you're good people, but let's not turn this into a fight.

Yeah, great. I'm a good person. Frankly, I am not. That's the problem, everyone looks at what we do and says, "oh, hey, they're great people. Glad they're doing that," without even a second thought about it. It doesn't even cross their minds what we are actually accomplishing; they hear "we're building a village" and they picture a couple of huts next to a stream and think "yeah, I guess that's cool" without even realizing what it actually means to the people living there. The impact in those people's lives is beyond anything you likely can imagine and certainly beyond anything you have ever experienced.

I believe that with such good fortune as ours comes an obligation to help other people, and I get very fed up with the oh-so counterproductive "me first" attitude that prevails in our culture.

dude, I totally understand where you are coming from, and I don't actually think you are a spoiled brat. I know what spoiled means, and I know what brat means, and I know you're likely not either. Its plenty easy to be rich and not spoiled, but you have to admit that you are still living in excess of what you need to be. My dad works plenty hard as well, hard enough to have far more than quadrupled his income from the first job I remember him having. However, priorities in life are different for every person, and I and my family believe that people always take precedence over money. What does that mean? Well, my dad owns his own business. Its quite sucessful (his biggest client is nike, and some other international ones) but he has chosen not to let it grow past a one man firm, despite tremendously greater wealth that that might offer. Why? because that would mean that he wouldn't be able to do volunteer work with the youth in the area, and wouldn't be able to see us more than a few times a week, as well as give up other things that he loves doing.

hey man, i really respect you and your family. people really dont understand what its like, and i wont say that i do either, cause i dont understand, unless ive been in their shoes. but i send money to the less fortunate anyways, cause i know im better off than they are, and i have given money when i didnt have any. ill also say that i dont think i try hard enough, i know there are other people that do better. if there was a poor, malnutritioned young little boy or girl in front of me, i would not be able to tell them in their face that i didnt try. when i get a real job, and start making some money, ill put aside part of my income to give to the less fortunate. its just one of those things thats hard to understand sometimes. some people just have to actually go there, and experience what they re going through to understand.

As long as you've got the money :p ... get the kind that is completely hidden. Sensors installed outside the car on the front and rear bumpers, warning lights installed discreetly in the instrument panel. That way cops won't know you have it if you do get pulled over; they tend to not like radar detectors. I forget what company makes it, but it goes for $1200.

Nice BMW. The nicest car at my shool was an X5 on 22's and at my other HS was a 325 (the cheap ass 4 banger version) with 328is wheels, and clear corners.

I won't make you feel bad about your wealth, but think about this. I loved jumping on trampolines until I bought one, I liked playing in my friends swimming pool until I had one.

The sweet isn't as sweet without the sour.:iagree:

nicest car at my high school was a new (at the time) 2002 V6 Mustang. Yes, our school had some crappy cars...
