well my seatbelt is a little twisted, it had 2 twists but then i moved one to the other side of the barrier, it still looks ugly

do you guys think i should take apart the door and fix the seat belt? or will i more than likely never be able to fix it myself without screwing something up ?

well, interior parts are one of the easiest things to work on on a car. so it shouldn't be that hard.

yeah eventhough, the 300zx door is one of the harder doors to take apart, it isnt hard. just know where all the bolts are and make sure you dont break any of the plastic clasps. i will look for a write-up with pics to show you whre the bolts are. there is about 10-12 screw and bolts that need to be removed. good luck...

oh, and another thing, if you don't know already, whever putting plastic pieces back together, never tighten the screws all the way, it could crack the plastic.

you will probably have to order that through nissan or a body shop or go to a junk yard and see of any of them still have it in tack...

I always have a problem sliding it back into place. The interior part of the door is a bit iffy to snap into the window tabs...for me anyways :(

you can get the splash guards that are under the car from here http://conceptzperformance.com/Cart/items.php?Car_Type=NIS300&car_cat=Body&CA=43&UID=2004111520525569.76.137.188

ouch... that's quite the chunk of change for a piece of plastic... just get some cardboard.. completely cover it with duct tape, then duct tape it to the underside of the car.... instant splashguard :D

lol...after almost 15 years of wear and tear, mine were starting to tear away from the bolts. so i just poked new hole through them and used zip-ties. the zip-ties hold that stuff up there better than the few 10mm bolts.

you should see my splash gaurd. it has about 10 zip ties in it. i was getting on the interstate one day and my friend tells me that i better hit a 100 by the end of the ramp. so i do and just about when i am going to get over, i look ahead and there is an object in the road. i hit it and it made a big "thump" noise, it was part of a semi tire. freaking ripped my splash gaurd all up.

damn thats too much for plastic hmm it seems i even need one of the fender wells, thats what that plastic is under the fender right

prices are rediculous i think they probly even have a j-spec splash gaurd which makes the car more aerodynamic and looks cool while drifting lol j/k but with my 50$ im getting some cheap 6.5 speakers on ebay, my car only has 2 right now. one on each door

Isn't it usually pretty easy to fix twists in a seatbelt? Just fiddle around with folding and pulling the belt through the eye on the clasp.. Worked in my car.. (Not a 300ZX)

well not in my case, i already folded it once but there is 2 twists, this wont do anything except make the twists on the other side of the clamp, right now theres one twist on the back and on twist on the front

i hope taking off the door will fix it, im going to work on it this weekend i dont even know what im going to do much less how to do it but i will try to do something

http://www.carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalNis300zxFSpk.htm

there is a tutorial on how to remove the door panel. also on that same website there is alot more stuff on how to take apart your dash, rear speakers. alot of goodies.

also, one mroe thing. if you want to take the door panel completely off, the top part that holds your seat belt at its peak. there is a cap over that. pop that cap off with a small flat head, then there is a 14mm(?) bolt right there. unscrew that and that pillar should pop off.

good luck!!! kinda scary the first time because if the door has never been apart, your afraid to pry so hard or maybe your missing something and you dont want to break nothing. but once the first time is over, its really easy from there. i have installed lots of car stereos and by far, i hate the door panels with like 2 small screws holding the whole door together. because after so many times of taking that off. it never goes back together how its supposed to.

also it seems the door panel has been removed because theres a 1" gap between the metal and the panel, when i look in i see a plastic screw that is squashed to the side and it makes the whole door look sloppy just seeing the gap
this is my favorite kind of work on my car, the kind that doesnt cost a damn thing to replace parts

well the door panel is off now i see a big box with the seat belt going in there so im going to take it off andjust turn the whole thing around, the job was pretty easy but its usually putting it back on thats hard

this is besides the seatbelt thing but whenever i close the doors i here the glass hit the speaker should i put a cloth or rubber on the speaker so there wont be metal to glass contact ? or will it make my speaker sound ugly ?

Hey Zgringo when are you going to tell me how to put on the gauges, you damn liar
