Hello all,

I have an 03 gjc laredo. I tried hooking up a wiring harness (with a power module) to the plug at the left rear inner panel. Unfortumately, the lights are lit at all times on my trailer (even when the key is off and the lights aren't on). I tested the circuit and found the jeep lead for tail/brake lights gives 12 volts constantly. The wiring harness guy blames Jeep, anyone got any ideas?

Thanks for any help.

If that were the case i would think your lights on the jeep would also stay on all the time. What are the wire colors that are hot all the time on the jeep?

I was thinking that too about the jeep lights not being on. The wire on the Jeep side is one of 2 black wires. One of the black leads connects to a "battery" input on the tow harness power module, the other leads to the "brake/tail" input on the power module. Both have constant 12v.

The tow module to jeep connection only plugs together one way.

Are these black wires on the module or part of the jeep? The tail light wires should be like this:black and yellow for tail lights, white and tan for brake lights, green and red for left turn, and brown and red for right turn.

Hey, I just wanted to post an update.

The problem was with the power module that came from the tow place. I got another one and it all functions normally. So much for the tow guy's original advice.

Thanks for all your help!
