Scratch-built GT-WingDukeMan 11-12-2004, 08:15 PM Here is the test-result of an idea i got two days ago, making a GT-Wing out of real metal since I´m getting pretty fed up with this CF thing going on just about everywhere and on everything. I wanted a Al-wing on my R34 for a change. I´ve used 0,15 mm thick metal sheet, cutting out the pieces with a pair of scissors, rounded by rolling a metal tube over the wings laying on a cloth. I made the rivets by gently pressing a needle from the opposite side. The whole thing is just glued with CA glue and it´s pretty fragile, also the brackets are from the R34 V-Spec II-kit. I´m quite pleased with the result, even though a lot can be improved; http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022Components.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022All_together.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022Test-mounted_on_car.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022Bad_ass_R34.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/245022Side_closeup.jpg Regards, Fredrik pre98zetec 11-12-2004, 08:20 PM It look's real good, But it's way too big IMO. white97ex 11-12-2004, 08:36 PM i agree. the quailty is quite good, and its an awesome idea..it just looks too big DukeMan 11-12-2004, 09:25 PM Yes I think so too, but remember that it´s just a test and not the final product. When I decided the size of the thing I just went for the biggest one in the cataloge, in 1:1 scale it would be about 1,60m = BIG. The one that I will make for the R34 will be about 2 cm shorter than this one, that would be 1,2m in 1:1 scale. Regards, Fredrik proosen 11-13-2004, 12:23 AM Snyggt jobbat! Nice to see some fresh ideas (as that is somekind of scarces phenomenon at AF :-D), you kind of get stuck in the wheel tracks after a while. I don't think the size is to big, just look at the racing Skylines, they have some pretty big wings! Looks aggresive. Niclas GvEman 11-13-2004, 06:08 AM fräckt;) awesome! nice idea! keep it up! lancerevoRS 11-13-2004, 09:14 AM sweet! Feint Motion 11-13-2004, 10:48 AM Thats Creative.
