Focus Zx3 Perfomance Specs.!!

Hey guys, I like the ZX3 hatchback, but I'm looking all over for 0-60MPH times that are actually real and other specs.

Any of you can help???

zetec or duratec?

and the 1/4 is about 16.1 for a zetec 130hp 135tq

It'll depend on whether you're running the Zetec (130hp) or the SPI (somewhere around 110), also an ATX or MTX. I can't quote numbers off the top of m head, but if you tell me which you're looking for I can look for you :)
EDIT: zx2srdotnet, did Ford offer the Duratec on the Focus in 2000? I thought that they didn't debut it on the Focus till 02 or 03?

it doesnt say he has a 2000, and the SPI is not avalable on the zx3

Ahhh...he said ZX3, and I began to think of mine. I always thought that they put the SPI in the ZX3. Learn something new everyday.

Yep, its the Zetec 2.0 liters engine! I like that car, its got looks and it seems to have good punch into it.

Yeah, I really like the car, I was going to buy one about a year ago, but then I got another car, now I'm going to switch cars again and I saw this silver focus for sale, so I'm not letting it go again!

From what I've read it says that it does the 0 to 60 MPH in about 8.7 secs., is that right?

8.7 0-60 and a 16.7 1/4 mile. Pretty decent for a stock car that only cost $12,000 US new.

try 7.4 0-60 and 15.7 for 12k :) = zx2 now you know why i didnt buy a focus lol

Damn...I didn't realize that ZX2's were that fast. That about equals, or might be greater then a new Si, which is quite a bit more!

That ZX2 sounds pretty damn good, just a problem though, I live in Costa Rica, and certain american cars are not really available, we do get all the cool japanese spec cars though, hehehe!!

I've seen a few of them around, its quite surprising the fact that its that much faster though, it looks bigger than the focus and its got the same zetec engine!

Might it be gear ratios?? Gimme Info!!! heheh

lol heres something for all of you to think about...ever looked at the SVT? 170hp @ 7000rpm 145tq with a 6 speed manual trans...im tellin you if your gonna get a focus get that one...im not saying it just cuz i own one but if your out to beat all the civics and accords and all the other foreign i4's....this car does the job...trust me ive tried ;)

not the same motor as the Focus. 2.0 Zetec with exaust side VCT 130hp 127tq about 100lbs lighter (depending on trim on the Focus more or less), better gearing (4.10 final) teh VCT was designed for emissionas but as a side effect hit helps carry power farther up the power band then the Focus, the VCT alows the ZX2 to come stock with more agressive cams the the Focus

and none of the focus recalls apply

all the other foreign i4's? 99-00 Si is on par with the svt, Mazdaspeed protege is faster, Celica GT-S is faster, WRX is faster, evo is faster, SRT-4 is faster, cobalt ss is faster, Ecotec sunfire/cavalier is on par, ZX2 S/R is on par.

and the ZX2 s/r, 99-00 Si, Sunfire and Cavalier are all cheaper.

also you may have 27hp and 5ft/lbs more then me, but i still have better 1/4 gearing and 300lbs lighter then you :) Oh and yes i do come stock with an autoX suspention. fully loaded still less then your svt :) lol
