well I'm not sure about a regular LS etc. unless its because of the weight difference. As far as the 92-93 gs-r I beleive the tranny has slightly better gearing over the g3 gs-r.

must be talking about the GSR or doesnt mean all G2's cuz no way a 90-91 could be faster than the 3rd gens, a good deal less power, and I didnt think their gearing made up for it at all.

I would not let the small difference in the 2nd gen GSR and the 3rd gen GSR decide which one to get. As far as speed they are rather close. As for the LS' then you definitely want to get a 3rd gen.

yeah, I dont really feel like my car would beat a new GSR, wouldnt lose bad though either, but definately nothing to base a decision on.

i've beaten a 3rd gen integ ls with no problem, even a 90's 300zx nonturbo and i got 18's on. could be the weight difference and/or driver experience.

94 LS has only 20 lbs on the 92. also has 2 HP more but big deal, 12 more than 90-91 but I dont know what you got.

then you got heavy 18's so the driver of the new LS wasnt too good. especially if you beat em with no problem.

well here's how I see it, when I bought my car I tried one of those gtec meters, to measure acceleration/1/4 etc. it gave me a reading of 15.0 flat. This was on level ground and a good straight away. now when I try it on the same road I can't even dip into the 15's, I also have noticed in the past year that my doesn't feel as strong as it used to. So if you can find a 2nd gen with low miles go for, but I think you're more than likely gonna find an old tired teg.

I think you just need to look around better, you should be able to find a deal somewhere.

probly nothing a ring job couldn't fix :uhoh: .... I wouldn't worry, you said yours felt strong rght? mine just doesn't seem to have the same kick anymore. of course i beat the piss out of it though. friggen redlining it in every gear just to get to wal-mart, etc. isn't conducive to a long engine life haha

yeah, but thats how I drive my car.

I am debating on rebuilding my B20 and throwing it under the B17's head and mating it to the stock tranny, or just overhauling the B17 a bit.

any clue how much it would run to bore out one cylinder and sleeve it back to 84mm (wrist pin met wall and scored it bad). was thinking maybe they could just weld up the grooves and rebore it. but not sure.

cuz I got a nice clean B20 with the JE 11:1's with only 1500 on it in the garage...
