When was the last time the tranny fluid and filter were changed? drdisque 11-11-2004, 03:27 PM this is the typical failure of the AX4S, it is caused by a piston inside the transmission to warp and not move on its own. It requires a rebuilt transmission smaj68 11-11-2004, 04:08 PM How many miles does your car have? When was the last time the tranny fluid and filter were changed? well i want to say 25,000 miles ago,and the car has 98,000 miles joe92k1500 11-11-2004, 04:45 PM It amazes me that ford could not have designed a more reliable tranny for the taurus. Correct me if I'm wrong. The taurus was redesigned in 95'. Since then the tranny has been pretty much the same correct? In that time they couldn't fix the problems?!? I've heard of a lot of newer taurus' having tranny problems. I mean for this to be "typical" is just bad. (Sorry, I had to vent, my taurus has 55kmi and that seems to be when the tranny problems start. so far so good though.) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
