I heard that you can't swap an older engine like a 95 in a newer car like a 2001. is this true or bull????

its true. its called obd compliance. an engine swap must come from the same year model or newer than the car its going in.

it can be done but it would be very hard. my cousin drives a 95 Civic EX(OBDI) and he put in the 99-00 Si motor(B16A2)-OBDII. He had to wire up 4 fuse boxes to get it to work. Two under the dash and two under the hood. Like i said it can be done but it would turn out to be a pain the ass.

What he is talking about is puting a 0bd1 motor in a obd2 car. I know some people have put and obd0 b16a from a 91 sir into a 95 hatch. It was done in the april 2002 issue of Sport Compact Car.

maybe i should have elaborated more. if youre asking if it can be done LEGALLY, refer to my above post. but it can be done, for "off road purposes only"

I said reverse. OBDII motor into a OBDI car. And why in the hell would you want to switch from hydraulic to cable. The 95 is hydraulic and the 91 would be cable. I dont see why people just dont get the same age motor as their car??:confused:
