To prepare for the winter, and since it's been awhile, I want to flush the coolant and replace it.

What's the best way to do this? Any tips?

Thanks

buy a prestone flush kit which allows you to hook a garden hose to your system-Follow the directions with the kit. If you currently use green antifreeze, STAY AWAY FROM DEX COOL, Stick with the green stuff.

Dex Cool is the stuff that cakes up your cooling system, isn't it... It's being put in all new Jeep/Chrysler vehicles, the orangish yellow stuff, right....?

No,the chrysler stuff is different. Its actually ethylene glycol but it is red so it kind of looks like dex cool. It's supposed to last 5 years.

Side note from your local eco-freako and animal lover. Please make sure you dispose of the old coolant properly and clean up any you spill. For some odd reason, animals love the taste of coolant, so they'll drink it and die very quickly.

Back on topic, I'm a Prestone fan. Used to use Zerex back when I raced, but they were a sponsor. LOL.
