StacksimtheoneandonlyD 11-10-2004, 06:04 AM Anyone in here have stacks on their ram?? Ive seen some pics of some rams that look pretty sweet with them on. I wanna lookin to gettin it done to my truck but dont know how to go about doing it. Is that something any exhaust shop can do? any downsides to going this route?? How hard is it to do if anyone has done it themselves. fredjacksonsan 11-10-2004, 10:03 AM Talked to a guy in depth, he had the diesel with twin stacks. He'd said there was no aftermarket kit to do it with and he had done it himself. I imagine an exhaust shop could do it for you. Downside? $$$$$$ rwood13 11-10-2004, 11:52 AM get sidepipes, stand them on end, did it to a 62 Chevy imtheoneandonlyD 11-10-2004, 02:13 PM i just think some chrome stacks would look awesome on my all black ram. Im thinkin of calling my local shop and seeing how much/if they could do it. jrmcx 11-10-2004, 03:40 PM For start http://search.ebay.com/Exhaust-Stacks_W0QQfromZR8QQsokeywordredirectZ1QQsonewuser Z1QQsosortpropertyZ1 BleedDodge 11-10-2004, 08:24 PM I'm going to do it eventually, but probably not to my red truck. I'm going to cut holes in the box around where those little drains are, and have the pipework done at the exhaust shop I deal with. It wouldn't be hard, I would have the stacks clamped to the front of the box at the top brim, and have flexpipes at the bottom so that the truck can still twist and everything without the pipes breaking, or stacks leaning. I was taking measurements on the truck I have now, and I think I would have the end of the pipes around 10 inches over the top of the cab, no lower and no higher. I would still be able to get the truck in the garage this way. The pipes would be 3.5 inch. 3 inch pipes are too small and 4 inch pipes are too big. Seems like everyone around here has either 3 or 4 inch, but I have the only 3.5 inch pipes... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
