In progress: Here goes another Enzo Ferrari ~~pandorasmb 11-09-2004, 11:30 PM Hi, folks, after a lot of over-time working in my little cubical of the company office, I'm back, and here is my Tamiya Enzo, I know, it's Enzo again, and again, and again.... but it 's a neat car, and with lots of parts - for a guy like me who used to build only the military models, it's a challange to deal with so many parts for a car model, so I decided to build it~~ ^^ I picked up the yellow version with the CF decale http://www.pbase.com/qv90/image/36151072.jpg I really like the "special effect" Tamiya did on the instruction, it looks yellowed and brings a touch of ellegence to the whole kit. http://www.pbase.com/qv90/image/36151074.jpg I started the kit with building the engine and exhaust pipes. http://www.pbase.com/qv90/image/36151173.jpg I spreyed two different colours to simulate the looking of the realy exhaust pipes. Also, I wraped some kitchen folio onto "that section"(I don't know what it's called in English) and spreyed black and dark brown on them. Because it's 1/24, I tried to make a lot of folds with the folio before I applied it onto "that section"(^^) to make it look more realistic. http://www.pbase.com/qv90/image/36151174.jpg And the engine, well, I like to use dry brush, just like my previous project, the Porsche Boxster. http://www.pbase.com/qv90/image/36151172.jpg I will keep you people posted for the progress ~~ ^^ 99civichic 11-09-2004, 11:35 PM What process did you go through on the engine? It looks very realistic. Zlaja_ 11-10-2004, 01:57 AM looks like black primer and drybrushed silver, i use to do that with games workshop black primer and some other silver paint from GW Zlaja_ 11-10-2004, 01:59 AM btw nice progress, ill keep my eyes on this one, im building an Enzo myself, what color are you planning for it? pandorasmb 11-10-2004, 09:45 AM hi, the engine is first heavy washed with black, then dry-brushed with silver from Humbroal. In fact, I am really benefited from the information provided by those who built their Enzo before, especially the pictures for the engine compartment, the wires and exhaust system.. SO, THANKS TO THEM ALL~~ ^^ Bilson8tor 11-10-2004, 11:49 AM this is looking very nice so far, im also about to start my tamiya enzo CADguy 11-10-2004, 12:23 PM Wow! The weathering looks great. You should definately use the clear undertray to show off that beauty! Blowncivic1320 11-10-2004, 12:26 PM looks great, i love the realism deedlit 11-10-2004, 12:52 PM Good job so far  I also like the weathering effect on the engine. It gives it more depth. rx7king 11-10-2004, 01:01 PM dont say "another enzo" we cant get enough of them. Im also starting one of my three enzos soon SLAYTANIC_1134 11-10-2004, 01:04 PM Seems like the military modlers can teach us a thing or two on weathering! Looks very realistic. Very nice! nervestrikes 11-10-2004, 01:17 PM Great start on an awesome model. I will be building this same on in about two weeks so I will definitely be paying attention to your work. So I can get some tips on dealing with CF decals. pandorasmb 11-10-2004, 01:29 PM thanks, guys, for your comment~~ ^^ I would not say "teach", because I have also learnt a lot in the automobile modeling, which is also helpful for me building the military models~~ ^^ to CAD, yes, you've figured it out ~~ ^^ I have been in fact planning to use the transparent undertray since the moment I opened the box of Enzo~` ^^ to rx7king, I know, I just don't want to bore you guys ~~ ^^ looking forward to seeing your Enzos~~ pandorasmb 11-10-2004, 01:54 PM I will be applying the CF decals, I checked the instruction, and found lots of places needed to have the CF decal applied onto, that Tamiya didn't even consider deserving the CF decal (on the instruction, Tamiya simply put a colour indicator saying X-18) So I had to find another source for the CF decal, because I am afraid the CF decal comes with the kit will not be enough if I plan to have all these parts covered by it. Also, the CF decal from Tamiya has quite large partern which seems more suitable for 1/12 models, so I went back to my decal colletion and found this CF decal from MODELER'S. http://www.pbase.com/qv90/image/36180937.jpg a bigger picture to show you the difference. http://www.pbase.com/qv90/image/36180938.jpg will keep you guys posted~~ Bas Carwash 11-10-2004, 02:10 PM This seems to be a very awesome Enzo project. Unlike lots of other Enzo's. The engine looks very realistic. The CF decals look very nice too. Keep up the good work, I'll be watching this one :D rx7king 11-10-2004, 02:57 PM i dont know bas, i dont think i have seen an enzo posted here that is not insanely good, just my opinion, as far as carbon fiber ive heard scalemotorsport.coms CF is very realistic for ferraris, i think thats what i will be ordering for my enzo(s) Rtuned 11-28-2004, 03:11 AM Love those exhaust you did.
