How Much Nos ???

I have a 93 Civic Hatch, I want to put a Nitrous kit in it , my engine is a B16A2 original from factory !

I have 4x1 DC header, Short Ram intake , 2.5" cat-back , Venon CAm sprockets , Msd cables , Lightened flywheel , and a Skunk 2 Chip.

Im afraid of puting Nos and breaking my engine, I know that i have to lower my timing so i dont get detonation .

My question is How much nitrous can i inject , and still keep the engine safe ? I was thinking on putting 35hp shot , but want to know from people who already used Nos on the B16A2 what is the maximun shot u can use on STOCK internals ???

Thanks !!

Stock i'd say be safe dont go over 50 some say 75 but I try to Err on the side of caution. Running a 35 HP shot will be fine as long as you dont lean out and a Skunk2 ECU will be riching you out anyway so even less a chanse But your tming might be advanced too much so you'll be smart to see what your timing is at before you spray.

zex tech's say 22shot per cilyinder max on 10 to 1 @ new factory compression. do a compression check and take 1 shot out per cillynder for every 5psi the engine lasks in cylinder pressure

The B-16a2 is a workhorse. You can run 50 shot on it all day long on the stock internals. My friend has a b16a2 with a 50 shot in a 94 coupe. More than 300lbs of n20 later it runs like new.

To be honest with you if you loose the ECU chip you will see better performance just from that, then the 50 shot max dry and I'd say 75 shot wet max. Also loose the term NOS, it is widely considered the biggest "ricer" term. :2cents:

id say go wit the zex kit. its safe and tells u how much timing retard u need for 55 65 and 75 shot.

So does other kits, or you can simply ask here.

Seeing as how the weight to power ratio was greatly in your favor you should be close. But what other mods do you have? Also any slips?

My 14.4 run was over a year and half ago and I had only I/H stock exhaust and stock clutch with 130+K miles on it. Also 60' time was 2.555. So I figure that with better 60' time and a larger shot 75-80hp I would be in the 13.6-8 range if the clutch could hold up. But with all the other stuff I have been working on putting in I will be able to beat that time wothout the bottle and be low 13's with the bottle. Still gathering a few last parts and then the build will resume in the summer :iceslolan Anyway my car is a coupe, but depending on what year civic you have it will be lighter than my car.
