Theft Prevention/recovery questions...MoJeeN 11-06-2004, 02:54 PM Okay people. I'm in the market for some kind of vehicle tracking device. I looked at Lo-jack and I didn't like it, plus it's not available in Utah, I guess because the cops don't want to pay for it in their cars. I looked at Onstar but it's expensive and I don't think it will work in a Jeep. Then I came across this thing. www.vehiclelocate.net It gives me some control over my car, if I ever loan it to someone I can be alerted if they speed or when my boys get older, and they start driving, I can control where they go. I was wondering if any of you guys have something like this. Are you happy with it? I's about 600 bucks which is almost 350 less than the lojack and almost 400 lessthan the onstar. Can I get your opinions and feedback? I don't want to spend it if it's going to be crappy. fredjacksonsan 11-11-2004, 10:37 AM Sounds pretty interesting! I don't know anything about it other than what's on the website though. Skavball24 11-11-2004, 12:20 PM You cannot install a monitor system to spy on your kids. I would have lost loads of respect for my p's if they ever pulled those kind of shenanigans! Anywho, I have never heard of that system so I can be of no help in that regard. ChadEbert 11-11-2004, 09:49 PM Interesting...when I was of the new driver age, we didn't have that. We had dicipline and I knew that if I f'ed up or got nailed speeding, or a ticket, or went somewhere I shouldn't be, I'd get caught, and when I got home, I'd have the holy crap kicked out of me for disobeying. I guess in this new era, it's called lack of accountibility and child abuse. <shrugs> MoJeeN 11-19-2004, 08:02 PM Interesting...when I was of the new driver age, we didn't have that. You're shocked to see them on girls gone wild. :nono: MoJeeN 11-25-2004, 02:01 PM I think I'm going to go ahead and buy it. Wish me luck :) MoJeeN 12-05-2004, 01:00 PM got it about a week ago, had a local shop install it. Took about 45 minutes to install. Went to my USAA carrier and i got a 27% discount on my comp/collision YAY!!! MoJeeN 12-06-2004, 01:32 PM Oh and my husband tried locking the keys in it, and it took about a minute for me to undo it.
