AWD or 2wd?

Any shake to the steering wheel wheel driving or braking?

I'd guess a loose front wheel bearing or perhaps a loose ball joint. Could even be a binding of the control arm bushing.

thats what i thought, i regreased the front wheelbearings when i did the breaks and they where fine so it must be something else.by the way its 2wd

I'd take the wheels off again and just make usre that you have the right side tight enough. I did my truck once years ago and that I had everything fine. Then I noticed a grinding noise coing from the RF in left hand turns. Guess what? When I took that side apart again, I found that I had barely tightened the castle nut before I put the cotter pin in place.... If the noise started after the brake job, I'd revisit things there first. Just make sure everything is tight enough.

thanx for all your help, i took the wheel off and thats what was wrong, i had just worked loose and allowed it to move just enough to make the clunking sound

I thought that sounded familiar...:iceslolan

We've all done stuff like that before. When I was in High School I changed the oil in my car once, had it up on ramps and drained it into the only thing I could find, a 5-gallon bucket. Installed new filter, put the drain plug back in place, filled it up with oil. Then I started the car up and drove it back down off the ramps..... Yeah, I forgot the 5-gallon bucket was still under the car..... Now that's a BIG mess!!! Boy did I feel like a :loser:

I had a similar problem after I had my brakes and rotors replaced at a shop. I took the van back and complained. When we put it on a lift everything was tight except I could move the caliper slightly back and forth. Turned out I needed a bushing kit which includes bushings and pins for the brake calipers. It was making a lot of noise and driving me crazy.
