86 4runner rear power window relay locationSonjaL 11-03-2004, 07:06 PM hey, anybody know where the relay is for my rear power window? 86 4 runner EFI, not an SR5. It's working very occasionally - when the switch inside is working so is the exterior key one, otherwise neither works, makes me think it's the relay... we've checked the individual switches etc... but we can't find the **** relay! Have looked under dash, kick panel etc -- any ideas? Maybe we missed it? thanks Sonja Jerry D. 11-21-2004, 08:12 AM You may want to check some of the "permissives" that allow the window to work. First the rear window wiper has to be up on its rest, can not be too far above either. Second the top has to be in place with the back two bolts that attach it to the body tightened down (has contact under one of the bolts). Third the tailgate has to be closed, one of the latches on the tailgate also has a contact on it. Those three I know will prevent the window from working. Hope this helps... standal 12-02-2004, 08:25 PM hey, anybody know where the relay is for my rear power window? 86 4 runner EFI, not an SR5. There's a small round relay and a larger box computer. My relay looked all corroded on the outside, but the inside looked fine (after I managed to pry it apart). You gotta pop the panel and unscrew the slot where the belt comes out of the wall. I went to my local Toyota dealership to ask them about the longer bolt and the contact, and they didn't know anything about it. They only have 2 length bolts in their parts catalogue in the computer, one for along the sides and one for across the top at the cab. I don't know what the problem is at this point. I'm thinking it might be my rear switch, but I can't get at it cause the window is stuck down. That gave out way before my front one did. My front switch quit one time after I replaced the roof.
