I need a solution to this comical problem... My friend's 1983 Rabbit GTI stalls and dies anytime the car negotiates a tight right hand turn. I just helped him get this car running, and I think the problem might be electrical (since a number of other problems are).
Any ideas?

Don't rule out the fuel tank/pickup. I've had problems in there cause the same symptoms on several cars.

Oh yes... Cars always stall due to axle and cv joint problems... moron.

The problem is almost certainly a short... Check all the ignition wires.

Fuel pickup is on the right hand side of the tank. People commonly bifricate the pickup line and send half to the other side. This problem should not happen with a full talk of gas. Fill it up and I think you'll find out I'm tight
