93 Bonneville Brake Warning

Here is what I know, I have plenty of pedal pressure and the master cylinder is full of brake fluid. This is what is happening. When I apply pressure to the brake pedal, I hear a clicking (like a relay activating) in the general are of the shifter, every time I push the pedal. When I put the car in gear, the brake warning light and warning bell activate and stay on until I turn the car off.

On the test drive, the car's braking performance feels normal.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

There is a shift interlock solenoid that prevents the gear selector from being moved out of Park without depressing the brake pedal. This is the clicking you hear.

Silly question time-----> Did you check if the parking brake is in the full up position? I hit my parking brake pedal 1 out of 4 times getting in the car.

If there is plenty of fluid and the brakes don't feel wrong then it could be the parking brake switch or wire. Just be carefull and make sure that there are no leaks in the system before driving the car.
