I think it is gorgeous but it needs more power. I am not a big fan of the new for 2002 body style but I think the cab grill is a good modification to that design. I can't wait to see what they are going to do with the new S4. They put a 300+ hp V8 , or at least this is what i've been told at Audi AG... Vertigo 03-01-2002, 08:55 PM Do you have any information regarding the pricing of the new S4. Audi usually stays about 5 grand under BMW for comparable performance, so I am guessing that the S4 will be a few grand cheaper than the M3. Tom_S8 03-05-2002, 10:50 AM Should be less than M3 , but they didn't want to tell any wxact number... XZLR8 05-06-2002, 08:00 AM Thanks for the info on the new A4 Cabrio. I'm very interested to take a drive once they hit the US in September (I think that's when). I read somewhere that Audi claims more interior room and more trunk than the 3-series convertible. Beisdes, I'm nervous about BMW ruining the front end of the convertible like they've done with the sedan, so I'd seriously consider trading for the A4 Cabrio. Shame it doesn't have more power though..... Vertigo 05-06-2002, 08:51 AM From what I am hearing Audi is not going to bring a manual tranny cabrio to the US. They don't thnk the demand will be high enough to offer it. It will be a nice open air ride to cruise around in, not one to go fast in. XZLR8 05-06-2002, 09:30 AM I heard the same thing. At US launch, there will just be a 3.0 CVT (I think that's what they call it) auto.... with a smaller engine (1.8?) to follow in the spring. I'd actually prefer an automatic anyway. Does anyone have an A4 sedan with CVT? Like it, etc? Tom_S8 05-06-2002, 03:01 PM It's not CVT ... i think it's multitronic transmission or something... it's good and smooth , but you can't tune your car very much , because it can only take like 300 Nm of torque... Anyway that's a shame you get only this trans... A4 is too small for me anyway , and as for cabriolet/sports car i have my porsches , but heck it's unfair anyway... XZLR8 05-06-2002, 03:39 PM Hey Tom... we were both right, apparently. I went to Audi's website and found the following quote about the new A4s.... "On the revolutionary front, the A4 sedan offers our new multitronic™ continuously variable transmission (CVT)." Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com!
