Cat Converter Air Tube KitCaprice Master 11-02-2004, 02:10 PM Hi, I'm in the process of reassembling/replacing my air injection reaction (A.I.R.) system om my 85 Caprice 305. I'm doing it since I need to in order to get past the newly reinstated emissions inspections in my county. The metal tube from the a.i.r. system on the engine, down to the cat, has rotted out near the cat, and I have a 10 inch gap to fill. My plan is to buy a foot of high temp silicon hose and use 2 hose clamps to hook it up between the cat and the rest of the original metal tube. Looks like a 3/4 inch pipe at the cat inlet, and a 3/8 or 1/2 inch pipe that goes to the a.i.r system. Anyone know what the diameters really are ? I need a hose that will fit over the larger cat inlet, the other end of which I would cut, to squeeze over the a.i.r. tube. Thanks. CD Smalley 11-02-2004, 08:29 PM Not sure on the size. But I know I was able to buy exactly what I needed, hose and all clamps needed, when I replaced my entire exhaust system on my 89 several years ago. The local parts store had just what I needed. Suggest you head there and tell them exactly whay you need. Caprice Master 11-04-2004, 10:15 PM I found a 1/2 inch flexible high temp hose that fits over the 1/2 inch pipe and also over the 5/8 inch pipe. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
