Hey everyone how are ya'll doin? I'm new here, spend most of my time in Probetalk.com, however it's getting to be about that time I garage my baby, 95 Probe GT. And need to find myself a winter car, and I am in the process of buying a 88 Escort GT from a fella soon and I was curious to know what anyone could tell me about these cars? What are they capable of, and what are the main things that go wrong with them, (most costely) I'm actually anxious to get the car. It's, as I said an 88 GT, 5 speed, with the 1.9Ltr EFI HO engine. actually very clean and well maintained! And I'm getting it ratrher cheap as well!!! I'll post pics shortly, howeveer for the time being I would like to develope more of a knowledge of this car. Can anyone help me out and answer some of these questions please? Thansk a lot! :thup:

I had an 89, the 88 and 89 are different animals underneath unless you get at least an '88 1/2'

like all escorts, they are very light duty cars. the older EXP style( up to 90) are much easier to set up to race and there used to be parts for them from ford up to and including a turbo to make it a 150hp engine.
