Repair costs out of line? $400 for PLUG WIRES?

My lady is just beside herself today... plug wires, battery cables and a $46 fuel pressure regulator netted her a $650 repair bill at the dealership. SIX HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS???

Can someone tell me how on earth the labor to replace four spark plug wires on a 4cyl 2001 Santa Fe tops $300 at the dealership? What... you have to pull the engine to replace the plug wires?

These are "DEALERSHIPS". Their labor won't go lower $500, never. Dosn't matter what they do.

WOW that's gotta hurt! go back and ask for an explanation.....then tell them to stick it.....just curious on why the whole batt. cable needed changing...not just the ends?

I'm thinking of buying a 2005 model, and I look at this forum periodically to see if there any gotcha's I should know about. Seems to me it's all about the dealer. Any body have any info on dealers in the Westchester County, NY area??

You can also try to check out Webtech for any TSBs or problems. As for the dealerships you can look at the Better Business Bureau to see if there are any complaints in the dealerships in your areas.
