2000 Accord Timing Belt ReplacementBadBrad7777 11-01-2004, 09:39 AM Has anyone changed their own timing belt? Where did you get your instructions and how difficult was it? Thanks in advance! ciccmga 11-01-2004, 10:35 AM [QUOTE=BadBrad7777]Has anyone changed their own timing belt? ProMan 11-01-2004, 10:53 AM I would suggest you to buy a honda service manual. It definitely worth it if you would like to do something like replacing the timing belt. It's a real job. BadBrad7777 11-01-2004, 05:03 PM BTW, The engine is a VTEC 2.3, Automatic. I just got done putting a ZZ-4 in my Corvette, Alone. I am mechanically inclined, but never done any work on the Honda before. The factory manual makes sense. Are you working off the hard copy or did you buy a CD? I see there are CDs on Ebay for about $30 with shipping. Is this a good way to go? How much time am I looking at? phantastic1 11-02-2004, 06:46 PM timing belt alone is 3.7 by the book. but its pretty simple. remove all drive belts; move p/s pump out the way; support engine underneath and remove left engine mount; remove timing cover after turning it to top dead center; loosen tension & remove belt; when installing....you must lock the rear balance shaft in place w/ a bolt through the back of the block after aligning all marks....which your manual should explain; reverse order for installation. while your already in there...i'de recommend changing the water pump and front seals. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
