I have a 1987 635csi L-6.It seems that when i hit about 50mph the sterring wheel starts to shake. It varies in shake with the speeds. I had all 4 wheels spin balanced and new brakes put on the front. The rotors were turned also. Could this be the control arm bushings? or part of the front suspension. If you can help let me know . thanks John P.s-- I have M-parrelell 18" wheels with 245x50 tires.

If it is starting at 50 and goes away before 70 mph it is a rotation out of balance caused vibration.

Many parts will make it worse, like bushings and bearings.

But the root cause is an out of balance condition.

First test is to change or rotate the wheels front to rear, if the vibration is then felt in the car seat, one of the rear tires is causing the issue.

While rotating the location of the wheels pay particular attention to the hub. It must be a very tight fit, if there is any gap the wheel will cause a vibration.

The larger the wheel, the harder it is to get a smooth balance.

If all test prove nothing consider a fresh balance and suspension inspection.

I would only recommend a load balance, see the link for the nearest Hunter GSP9700 near you.
