No idle and fuel blowing uot top of throttle bodyRiskBeMe 10-30-2004, 01:22 PM I just recently bought my son a "90" geo metro and while taking him out for a driving lesson the car stalled and would not idle. We took the air filter off and fuel would spray strait up out off the throttle body when motor was running with the throttle opened all the way. I replace the throttle body and fuel control valve, but still have the exact same problem. Could this be a slipped timing belt? Or is it some other problem. I am totally clueless about this motor any suggestions (other than just dumping it or using it as a dog house etc.) would be appreciated. Thankyou Tucker thejacobhartman 10-30-2004, 01:24 PM timing belt sounds like a good start to me. did it sputter then die, does it fire any cylinder, does it feel like its cranking hard? RiskBeMe 10-30-2004, 01:44 PM It does start hard, but it will start so it has to be firing on at least two cylinders. It will run wide open but even then it is running rich and fouls the plugs rather quickly. If it is a timing belt issue how big ot a deal is it change out? Thanks for the response. Tucker thejacobhartman 10-30-2004, 02:29 PM from what i remember it is not that bad to change. i did it on a 3cyl and it took me a couple hours. also check to make sure your cat converter isn't bad. Crvett69 10-31-2004, 01:55 PM might run a compression test, almost sounds like you have a stuck intake valve vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
