Rice usually refers to any type of change made to a car that has no performance value, like triple stacked carbon fiber wings on a Civic. Or a 5" polished exhaust tip on an otherwise stock exhaust system.

The term started in california, refering to the many base model Civics and Intergras sporting "Type R" badges and other such nonsense. "Rice" or "Ricer" is now a commonly used word in many parts of the world.

Ricers are usually people buying a 3 door civic, replace spoiler and put some craps on the frame and huh...put a body kit,
when they are done with that, they go on every roads with maximum bass music and say: look at my modified car !

you forgot the AEM stickers they put all over it that they got for free with their intake.

Gawdy rims
Annoying exhaust
Huge, elaborate, expensive, nonfunctional body kit
Any kind of abnormal lighting (funny story regarding this...see bottom)
Bizarre paint schemes/colors (the day glo orange civic with the black wing around town comes to mind...)
Stickers/decals/graphics

About that funny story...I was driving back from the bar last night in my beater ass Celica. This thing's about as fast as...MAYBE a stock, base model civic...and that's kinda pushin it. I come up on this V6 mustang...ok ok ok...this is a riot...I was laughing my ass off...

-It was red...no big deal

-He had a FLOURESENT WHITE UNDER CAR LIGHT KIT

-Some goofy decals going down the sides of the car

-It had a nose (yes...ONLY the nose) like this (http://www.bodykits.com/fullview.php?id_no=24687&view=OK&unit_price=963.9&option_price=964) god-aweful atrocity. Notice that that piece of shit is over $1,000!

-And...last, but DEFINATELY not least...SIDEPIPES!!!

...of course I had to try to get him to race me. He did...kinda...sorta...not really...I honestly think he was trying to get away from me more than anything. He just BARELY pulled on the beater....probably wouldn't even have done that much...I was laughing so hard I forgot to downshift!

Here's the "moral" to this story...rice isn't just from Japan...

Well when people that own Z's do the same thing as the hondas with the gigantic wings and useless body kits with some paint color which they most likely dont even care for. Then I dont really care if they make fun of them. But if your car is just a plain color with some tastefull rims and a small body kit, like most of the people that own Z's have, then its anoying to get made fun of.

Some people are dumb...they just think that all Japanese cars are "rice"...no no...there is domestic rice too as I mentioned in my last post...and I think there's nothing worse than a riced out mustang or camaro...
