if you're going for all out SPL then yes, but it's a fart machine, don't use it for a daily driver system

RE didnt even bother taking the time to test the HF for specs. only god knows (or someone who has all the equiptment to test all of the specs) what box it would perfrom best in for a SQL set up, it wouldnt make a good SQL woofer anyway. It was designed for pure power handleing with maximum linear excursion over short periods of time. it would put a good 5-10dB on an XXX easy but thoes extra dB's arent worth it. same thing with the XXX 18. something about that motor structure makes the 15" sound good but the 18 doesnt give a good responce and it craves a 7cuft enclosure... it is for SPL and SUV/Vans only.

Are you talking about the MT? No such thing as a HF

Have you heard an xxx 18? I have and I must say it is by far the most musical 18 I've ever heard. It hits 50 hz just as well as 30 and is VERY tight and crisp. They aren't all out sq and get damn loud but they have better sq then most 12's and 15's.

never said a 18 wasn't musical... but nope havent heard it.

that question was directed to cbfryman............something about that motor structure makes the 15" sound good but the 18 doesnt give a good responce and it craves a 7cuft enclosure... it is for SPL and SUV/Vans only.

it does crave a larger enclosure... 4 cubes sealed or so... It uses the same motor I am pretty sure as the 15". No reason it should be softer.

ive heard one xxx18 set up. as SQL acourding to RE specs. 7.5cuft Ported enclosure tuned to 30Hz.
FYI-RE reccomends the same tuneing on their xxx10 as xxx18. and the xxx12 is lower and the 15 is lower also. it is expected for a 10 to have a higher resonant frequincy then a 15.
also, The 15 reccomended box is 4cuft ported and 2cuft sealed. the 18 is 7.5cuft ported and 4.2 sealed. When RE set out ot build the XXX series they set out to make an extremely loud woofer that could easily compeat with mainstream SQL woofers such as the W7. you could take DD's message and RE's message about audio and they are about the same. Brahama is the only real SQ company out of the three major non-mainstream woofer companies that make ear shaddering bass.
The xxx18, for some odd reason, gives a shakey responce in higher subbass frequincies (such as 60+hz) and though can create 80Hz no problem should probably be paced on a 50Hz 12 or 16dB/octave or 60-70Hz 24dB/octave at highest. it also cant create frequincies below 30Hz very well at all.

what is Brahama?
Unless you mean the Brahma, which is a sub, not a company. It's made by Adire Audio, the inventor of XBL^2, which is the technology used in the Brahma, Koda 8, 10, 12, 15, Extremis, XXX sub, XXX components, and many other speakers made by many different companies.

The Brahma is a SQ sub with ridiculous excursion, exactly the same as the XXX. The XXX has more windings though, which gives it a higher power handling and slightly less SQ (though probably inaudible to most people) due to the higher inductance.
