i have an '84 rabbit gti 8v and the thing will not crank for nothing, but it will spin over like it wants to but it just won't. i have tried everything reset the timing, new control pressure reg., spark plugs and wires. i have noticed a really weak spark and when i disconnected the gas line to the cold start valve gas went everywhere but when i disconnected the others nothing; could my problem be the fuel ditributor? any info welcomed

thanx

Pop out an injector & lift the air flow plate in the fuel distributor housing (while the fuel pump is running) & see if it sprays fuel.

i've taken out an injector but i did not lift the air plate so i will try that, i know it's not the injector they are brand new. If nothing comes out then what could it be?

Fuel pump, incorrect fuel pressure, fuel distributor.... You may need a special CIS fuel pressure gauge.

check the pick up coil in the distributor sometime the wires in there get sliceced by the spining rotor underneath the little plastic protector
