intake silencer removaldanny8630 10-28-2004, 03:53 PM three things: 1) difficulty level 2) performance pros/cons...BOV? 3) CEL risk freakray 10-28-2004, 04:04 PM Do the exhaust first. danny8630 10-28-2004, 04:34 PM short funds ragnarok720 10-28-2004, 06:13 PM Do the exhaust first. Pointless post as most of these are..... Difficulty: 2 Pro: louder intake Con: none CEL Risk: none (far as i know) nismo_power 10-28-2004, 07:11 PM it is pointless to remove the silencer, but if you are intent on doing it heres how..... find your filter box, there should be another little plastic box thats connected to it, it has nothing in it. its the intake resonator, just pop it off...it should just snap out. but if you want a louder intake, you can pick up a K&N cone filter for around 40 bucks, and then just take out your filter along with the top of the box, and stick the filter on there. it will be much louder because removing the resonator wont do much. ragnarok720 10-29-2004, 02:40 PM How exactly is it pointless? He wants to make his intake louder in which it does, so how is it pointless? danny8630 10-29-2004, 03:03 PM i know it isnt going to give me performance...and yes, it may be pointless to some. However, in reward to having a car with a turbo, i want to hear it, i dont see a problem with that. but everyone is entitled to their own opinions ragnarok720 10-29-2004, 06:41 PM You'll be able to hear the turbo better for sure, i actually enjoy the way it sounds. Most of the people on here seem to believe that anything that makes noise on your car is "rice" like bov's. nismo_power 10-30-2004, 12:19 AM you will hear it a tad bit more but nothing to brag about. im not a fan of rice, and i love the sound of intakes, loud (not farty!) exhaust, and the sexy yet disturbing sound of a BOV. i just think that silencer removal doesnt do too much. when it took it off my car i had before the rex, it was barley noticable. just go get a cone filter, and then youll really hear the intake. youll get a very nice loud sucking sound from the air vacuming into the intake. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
