Why Brushguards aren't my favorite.

So I bought my Xterra in Oct 00 and since it was the first new truck I have bought for ME and not my CFO(wife), I had them put everything on the truck. This included a brushguard for the front and tailight guards for...well...the tail lights.

PNWX went to the Tahuya State Forest (http://www.xterra4x4.com/Trips/trips.html) in Feb and coming up a hill I took a hit on the very bottom of the brushguard where it mounts to the frame. When it hit, the vertical rubber strip that covers the push bar section was pulled downward as it was pushed against the grill from the impact and scraped the grill on both sides. The imact (which wasn't that big) also shifted the guard towards the passenger side just enough so the driver's side wing is now rubbing against the very front of the fender. Off came the brushguard after that trip and on went the ARB (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2596)

Here's where the brushguard hit:

http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/otn/laughing/1orglaugh.gif HAHAHAHAHA, wrench, HAHAHAHAHA, kid, HAHAHAHA!!

Okay. Sorry about the wrench, but damn, sucks what happened to the truck. Some touch up paint should do the trick. Or is there body work needed to be done? All in all, I would still get a brushguard for those situations(can't think of one right now) that might need one.

Hope you find that wrench, sucks when junior thinks it's a toy and does whatever to them.:D
