Quietest and softest tire for my ridejoms 10-28-2004, 01:16 AM Im not knowledgeable about tires but can you recommend me the BEST tire i can buy for my 2004 Ford Escape 4x2. I dont go off road at all and mainly use the vehicle to go to work/home. My priorities are: 1) QUIETEST Tire 2) SMOOTHEST Ride * Im not particularly interested in Performance as i dont use this for sports purposes (fast driving) or such. I mainly want a very very silent tire (as im into car audio) and one that would give me the best comfort. Thanks. *Also i live in the Philippines so there is NO SNOW here. Only hot/warm weather all year round. joms joms@joms.net Grant@Tirerack 10-28-2004, 11:26 AM There were a lot of tire size options on these depending on which version you had. Which tire size do you have on the vehicle now? That way we can tell which tire models are available to select from. joms 10-28-2004, 06:26 PM My original tire is a R16 215/70 but im im looking into getting a R16 235/60 Grant@Tirerack 10-29-2004, 11:05 AM For that size, I'd look at either the Kumho Ecsta KH11 or the Continental Conti Touring CH95. Both are grand touring tires and are designed for quiet ride and low noise. I'm running the Kumho on my Cabriolet and they are very quiet. I hear more tire noise from the cars around me with the top down. joms 10-29-2004, 06:03 PM thanks. i will look into it. also, would you know if the kumho tire uses the "silica" thing which tire sellers here says helps out in tire noise? joms 10-29-2004, 06:18 PM looking at tirerack, kumho ECSTA KH11 ranks #1 in Grand Touring Summer. Would you say that it is better than the Bridgestone Turanza LS-H in terms of being quiet and smooth riding? I wouldv considered the Turanza LS-Z but they dont have the size 235/60/R16 vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
