thinking about the fairladygelpke 02-20-2002, 08:06 PM hey everybody, i'm looking into buying a fairlady z right now after i trade in my skyline. i'm looking at 91 -94. any suggestions on these cars? what to look for, t-tops or not, turbo or not, things that go wrong with them. also specs like factory horsepower, torque and such. any help here would be appreciated. thanks, jon NISSANSPDR 02-24-2002, 03:14 AM Why do you want to trade a Skyline for a 300ZX/Fairlady Z??? I mean I like them both but usually the Skyline is treated as being the better. But I guess I can see coming from a GTS-T...which stock has around 250HP and going to a Fairlady Z that has 300HP would be dope...but if you are in Japan...you could pick up a Skyline GT-R for real cheap too. I hear after 3 years in Japan...a car is basically worthless...hence why there are so many low mileage engines/cars all around in junkyards for us to have fun w/it. Hehehe. Anyways...ideally...you'd want a Fairlady Z...Twin Turbo...that's a 3.0 Liter creating 300HP and goes to 0-62mph or 0-100kph in 5.5 seconds. If you want 2 seats or 4 seats...you have that choice too...the 2by2 (4 seater) has a longer wheelbase...so that's up to you. The NA (non-turbo version) has 222HP out of the same 3.0 Liter V6. One last note...get the Version R not the Version S...it looks tighter!!! Good luck and keep us posted on your endeavor! gelpke 02-25-2002, 06:21 PM well you know being here in japan and all its easier to give up the skyline cause i can always get another if it comes to that. but my skyline is an automatic, and instead of paying $1200 to switch to a manual i'd just get another car that i've been wanting. i just love the fact of 300 hp stock. that rules. then maybe after i fix up the z i'll sell her and go for an r32 gtr or something. thanks for the advice though, jon NISSANSPDR 02-26-2002, 01:48 AM You also probably want a slick top (hardtop) but that's more for people who dont like chassis flex like drifters, road racers, or autocrossers. I dont think drag racers and street racers mind that much. NP on the advice...post some pics of your Skyline!!! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
